Wavemaker, GroupM’s new global billion-dollar revenue, media, content and technology agency, today announced two key appointments in its senior leader team in China. Ann Lim will take up the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer for Wavemaker China, while Azhar Shah will assume Managing Director position for PLUS China, the bespoke WPP agency dedicated to the CHANEL business.
In her new capacity as Chief Operating Officer, Ann Lim will support Gordon Domlija, CEO of Wavemaker Greater China, to ensure the implementation of the company’s business strategies and optimization of agency operations, as well as working closely with its leadership team to unlock growth opportunities for all Wavemaker clients.
A well-rounded agency leader and marketer with two decades of integrated communications planning experience, Ann has been with MEC of GroupM since 2010. Prior to her new role, Ann was the Managing Director, PLUS China & Chief Client Officer, MEC China.
As Managing Director of PLUS, Azhar is tasked with continuing to drive the growth of CHANEL business in China, drawing on his wealth of WPP business leadership experience. Prior to his promotion, Azhar was the Head of Strategy for PLUS for three years. Previously he had worked for 12 years in the China, South Korea, Australia and UK offices of Kantar Millward Brown, WPP’s leading research data and insights company.

Both Ann and Azhar are based in Shanghai and report to Gordon Domlija.
